Talk to the Hand was an exhibit I saw while in Switerland. I had left my partner by stepping off a train in Germany and for two weeks I biked around Zurich and sketched and went to art shows alone. I remember feeling so lonely and sad and free. It was one of the few moments in my life that was completely unplanned and I wouldn't have done it any other way.
About the Series: Each collage in this series is created from papers, notes, tickets, flyers, postcards, advertisments and memories gathered throughout my life. As a collector of paper souvenirs thoguhout my travels, I kept a piece to put here, cut up, combined and reflected on many years after.
These are much more personal, and much more valuable than I even planned. 2024 has been a year of processing, reflecting, and letting go. It's been a wonderful process to take these memories and reminders, create new meaning, and move forward. I hope you find as much meaning in your interpretation.
